Arizona Theatre Matters is a digital theatre company building performance from accessibility itself—centering Deaf, Blind elder and artists with disabilities as the foundation of the creative process.
Rather than adapting existing work, ATM develops productions where accessibility shapes every creative decision—from storytelling to staging.
This approach is redefining how theatre is created, who it centers, and how audiences experience it.
Why This Matters
- Accessibility is typically added after the fact—ATM starts there
- Deaf and Blind artists are rarely centered as creators in theatre
- Digital performance expands who theatre can reach and include

2026 Season
Arizona Theatre Matters’ 2026 season continues the company’s commitment to accessible digital theatre for audiences worldwide.
This year’s productions explore memory, history, and the voices that continue to shape our understanding of the past. The season revisits powerful historical figures including Joan of Arc, Clara Barton, and Ulysses S. Grant, while also examining the enduring influence of theatrical tradition and storytelling itself.
The season presents stories of resilience, legacy, and remembrance. It ranges from the private grief of Joan of Arc’s mother in Even Unto Death. There’s also a supernatural encounter with history in Midnight at the Algorithm & Blues. Finally, it includes the stark final reckoning of Shakespeare’s aging king in Lear — A Solo Adaptation.
Other productions include Ghosts of the Gilded Stage. It is a reflection on the memories embedded in theatre itself. The Great Divide — A Clara Barton Story presents a portrait of one of America’s most remarkable humanitarian leaders. Mackers offers a theatrical experiment where the infamous Scottish play pushes back against those attempting to stage it.
Together, these works continue Arizona Theatre Matters’ mission to create accessible theatre without borders, reaching audiences around the world through free digital performance
