Independent Adjudication
Recipients of GIFF awards are selected by an independent panel of adjudicators drawn from Arizona’s arts and cultural community. Each adjudicator attends every production and submits individual evaluations using a standardized rubric immediately following each performance. Evaluations are completed independently, and there are no adjudication meetings.
To ensure a fair and transparent process, productions created by Festival Leadership are not eligible for Best Production, Best Director, or Outstanding Original Work, but remain eligible for all performer, design, and GIFF Honors awards.
