Accessible Theatre for Communities
Free audio theatre screenings and live conversations, offered in person in the Phoenix Metro area and nationwide by Zoom.
Stories for Communities. Conversations for Our Time.
Arizona Theatre Matters creates accessible theatre exploring human dignity, conscience, identity, memory, justice, belonging, and the complexities of the human experience.
The Screening & Conversation Series brings these stories directly to communities through free screenings and live conversations. The series explores questions of conscience, identity, justice, faith, memory, aging, belonging, and human dignity.
Though each work tells a different story, they share a common concern: how individuals navigate communities, institutions, and systems that often struggle to accommodate the full complexity of human experience.

More Than One Door Into the Story
Arizona Theatre Matters builds accessibility into the artistic design from the beginning. Audio theatre, sign language on screen, captions, educational resources, and community dialogue are not additions after the work is complete. They are part of how the story is shaped.
The Screening & Conversation Series offers multiple pathways into storytelling so Blind, Deaf, hearing, sighted, disabled, nondisabled, local, remote, and multigenerational audiences can experience the work together.
