Full Workshop Description

A dreamlike theater scene viewed from the audience’s perspective, with a diverse group of performers on stage, including elders, people with disabilities, and BIPOC individuals. The performers are acting out their personal stories through movement and dialogue, under soft, glowing lights. The stage backdrop features colorful, swirling patterns that evoke a sense of dreams and imagination. The atmosphere is magical, reflective, and celebratory.

The workshop offers a transformative theatre

experience where participants explore creativity, voice, memory, and storytelling through various exercises over six weeks. It culminates in a celebratory showcase. A sample post-program survey includes Likert scale questions and open-ended questions for feedback.

Through guided exercises, writing, movement, and collaboration, you’ll explore your creativity, connect with others, and share your stories on stage. This workshop is designed to be adaptable to participants’

skill levels and interests. A welcoming and supportive atmosphere encourages exploration and self-discovery.

  • Participants begin with a letter-writing exercise focused on hopes, dreams, or pivotal life moments.
  • Introductions incorporate sharing excerpts from the letters.
  • Sensory immersion and exercises explore the power of voice and artistic impulse.
  • Week 2: Exploring the Depths of Memory
  • Participants revisit their letters, using them as inspiration for writing or monologues based on memory.
  • Guided meditations and activities unlock deeper layers of personal experience.
  • Week 3: Finding Connection Through Storytelling
  • Letter exchange activity fosters understanding and connection.
  • Collaborative storytelling exercises build ensemble skills and explore shared themes.
  • Week 4: Embracing Transformation Through Performance
  • Activities focus on embodying dreams and memories through tableaus and character development exercises.
